The Senate has impeached Embu Governor Martin
Wambora in a majority vote.
Thirty five Senators voted in support of the motion
to remove the Governor, while one voted against.
There was one abstention.
This is the second time Mr Wambora is being
impeached after the High Court quashed the first
attempt on grounds that a court order that halted
the exercise was ignored.
Mr Wambora is accused of gross violation of the
public procurement and Disposal Act, Public
Finance Management Act and the Constitution of
