3:45pm – Raila arrives at Uhuru Park to an
uproarious welcome

3:05pm – Opposition Cord coalition principal and
former Prime Minister Raila Odinga has just arrived
at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport from the
US where he has been away for nearly three
months on a lecture tour.
Mr Odinga is being received at the airport by top
coalition leaders including Governors Evans Kidero
(Nairobi), Hassan Joho (Mombasa) and other

press briefing and later head to address a rally at
Uhuru Park.
Crowds of Cord supporters started streaming into
the city early morning Saturday in groups and
onwards into the park in single files where they are
screened by policemen and Cord’s security team,
dressed in black.
Security is very tight at the park and is surrounded
by policemen.
